Saturday morning, our group embarked on a breathtaking cycling journey through the Hakdoshim Forest and Ilan Stream. It was one of those mornings where everything felt perfect—a cool breeze, a hint of sunshine, and the promise of adventure.
We began our day at Mesilat Zion, gathering early in the fresh morning air. The atmosphere was filled with the excitement of the ride ahead. Entering the Martyrs' Forest, we ascended through the scenic South Kisalon. The trail greeted us with vibrant patches of daffodils and cyclamen, painting the landscape with delicate splashes of color. Every now and then, we paused to soak in the stunning views of the Judean Mountains, their majestic beauty made all the more striking by the crisp air.
As we pedaled along, we encountered fellow cyclists who were also reveling in the natural splendor. The sense of camaraderie was heartwarming, as strangers shared smiles and exchanged greetings, all united by the joy of being amidst such beauty.
After we conquered the steep ascents, we were rewarded with an enchanting display of crocuses and pink cyclamen standing proudly against the lush green grass. The air, though chilly, was invigorated by the sunshine that gently warmed our faces.
Our route led us through Givat Ye'arim, where we descended into the serene Nahal Kisalon. From there, we climbed towards Shoeva and found a cozy spot at the "Aroma" café. It was a perfect break—sipping on steaming coffee and indulging in pastries while sharing stories and laughter. The café was alive with the buzz of others who had ventured out to enjoy the delightful Saturday morning. It felt like a community coming together to savor the simple joys of life.
Refreshed, we continued our ride, descending along the picturesque Ilan Stream. The noise of the large stones under the wheels of the bicycle added a touch of adventure to the journey. The cool wind rushed past us as our wheels rolled over the terrain, surrounded by a canopy of trees. The beauty of the stream and its surroundings left us in awe, a testament to nature’s artistry.
Our final stretch took us through the northern reaches of the Eshtaol Forest, eventually bringing us back to Mesilat Zion. After covering approximately 36 kilometers of trails and views that left us speechless, we gathered around a table in the forest to enjoy a hearty meal together. The laughter, delicious food, and shared sense of accomplishment made it the perfect ending to an extraordinary day.
This ride wasn’t just about cycling; it was a celebration of nature, friendship, and the sheer joy of exploring the world around us. Each trail, flower, and moment spent together made it a journey to remember. We left with hearts full of gratitude and a renewed appreciation for the stunning landscapes that surround us. Here’s to more rides like this—where every turn of the wheel brings us closer to the beauty of life.
